Some religions believe that the soul of man is immortal, and others believe that immortality is awarded to him, and can be withheld if the deity wishes (as in Christianity). In the Bhagvad Gita, Krishna says, "There never was a time when I, nor thou, nor any of these princes of earth was not; nor shall there ever come a time, hereafter, when any of us shall cease to be." If you discovered that your soul was immortal even if the physical body grew old and passed away, would you be happy with this situation, grateful for it, or would you be terrified?
